Erik Gunst Lund Posted February 19, 2011 Share #341 Posted February 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In these captures I have pre focused for where I want the rider and then follow the rider as he approaches and fire the shutter, took only a couple of shots to get it right. Advertisement Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Hi Erik Gunst Lund, Take a look here M9 shutter lag?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Lindolfi Posted February 19, 2011 Share #342 Posted February 19, 2011 Very nice shots, Erik! These guys usually ride at about 15 meters/sec. which gives you a range of plus or minus 0.4 meter at an accuracy of 0.025 sec., which may be in the ballpark of the range you show with these two pictures (given that the diameter of the frontwheel is 0.67 meter)
Erik Gunst Lund Posted February 19, 2011 Share #343 Posted February 19, 2011 Thanks, yes these where shot during the steal of the decisive lap for the win, so they where at about 55 km/h
ThorkilB Posted February 20, 2011 Share #344 Posted February 20, 2011 hey guys (and girls) we have to assume that we all have thin and skinny fingers, otherwise we have to calculate both on the fat-finger-lag AND the shutterlag .... (take that..) best Thorkil Nice shots Erik, but more easy here, while you "just" more easily follow the bikes I think that shutterlag is both a sort of the mental uncertain-feeling combined with some exact disturbance
Erik Gunst Lund Posted February 20, 2011 Share #345 Posted February 20, 2011 Yes, except if the shutter is not open at the right moment, position, then they will be in a position where the rider is out of focus, closer or further away,,,
