chuckw Posted September 11, 2009 Share #42 Posted September 11, 2009 Yes, "Digital M," put them back together now - not later!
Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 11, 2009 Share #43 Posted September 11, 2009 One more vote one forum - Digital M less really is more here. .
Richard.no Posted September 11, 2009 Share #44 Posted September 11, 2009 I think separating the M8 and M9 into 2 forums is just silly and counterproductive. There will be a lot of useful comparison discussions, as well as enough overlap in discussing using these very similar tools to warrant open dialogue. Other forums lump the higher end bodies like Nikon D3X, D3, D2, D1 in the same forum productively. RFF has a M8/M9 forum. So should we. best....Peter Like many probably have mentioned, there is great value in keeping the two "camera camps" in the same forum, so I am not going to repeat that. Since the M8 and M9 will have more or less the same users, cameras aimed at the same segment you could say, there is a lot of sense in keeping them together. I heard Andy say there was an overwhelming support for a split, but I really don't believe it. Have we had a poll? So a few strong souls have simply decided, I assume. apitong Posted September 11, 2009 Share #45 Posted September 11, 2009 I agree - one Digital M forum would be better
andybarton Posted September 11, 2009 Share #46 Posted September 11, 2009 So a few strong souls have simply decided, I assume. Andreas decided. It's his forum. Look at it from an M8 user's perspective - there would be very little on the Page 1 of the sub-section relating to the M8 at present - understandably. Like I said earlier, be patient for a while, and the situation is likely to be reviewed when things settle down.

That is the best decision, imho : for some time, M9 will host a hell of threads on first impressions, issues, observations etc... , as time goes on, the "frenzy about new" will attenuate and it will become natural to accomplish a single "Digital M" section. Agreed. Although actually I do have an alternate suggestion. Let's put all the proper M conversations in one place - M3, M2, M4, M5, M6, M7 and M9, and call it "Full Frame Forum"... chris_tribble Posted September 11, 2009 Share #49 Posted September 11, 2009 1 digital M forum - pretty please
Fotomiguel Posted September 11, 2009 Share #50 Posted September 11, 2009 I would like one forum (Digital M), but I understand that is not easy. Not too difficult to check both.
dfdann Posted September 11, 2009 Share #51 Posted September 11, 2009 Please leave them separate at least until the smoke clears on the M9. A lot of us can not afford to buy the M9 yet and are happy with the M8. I will follow the M9 forum and probably upgrade at some point but for now would prefer the forums stay apart. It is easy enough to change forums. Cheers, Dan
