That poster didn't exactly make that question clear (is the definition of expensive subjective?); but I would rephrase more like:

Would you ever consider a pricing strategy that caters to photographers instead of rich dentists? :D

Or, kidding aside:

How would you forsee returning back as a stronger presence in the photographer's market rather than resting on your laurels and an over-priced product strategy (e.g., collectibles vs. worktools)?

I'm not joking; this is an answer I've wanted for around two decades.

Nice. A down payment on a small car. I'll have to be happy with my devalued M8, sell it along with my nocti. I don't think I'll part with my Nocti.

If you think of it as only being 500 Euros more expensive than an M8.2 it doesn't seem so bad <grin>.

Oops. Just read Andreas' notice. I hope I have not violated any rules or regulations with my past couple of posts. If so, mods, please exercise discretion and delete accordingly. Sorry. :o

Why oh why oh why return to viewfinder lines accurate at 1 meter? So we'll later buy a viewfinder upgrade?

Kirk

The framelines for the M3 were accurate at 1m (shortest focussing distance). As later lenses allowed to focus on 0.7 m they decided to tune the framelines for this distance with the M8 (the 90mm frames were kept on 1m and seemed to be rather precise). The M8.2 went to 2m. So now they are compromising on the M3 standards again.

Oh...I forgot, this is about questions... sorry, I have none.

Thats the processing time after the shot has been taken, which should be shorter as processing power has improved over the past 2Ω years (by more than a factor 2).

Thanks but the Leica's technical data say:

M8 : "2 pictures per second and 10 pictures in series"

M9 : "Approx. 2 pictures/s and 8 pictures in series"

Which means the buffer is 8/10x18/10.5 = about 1.37x bigger (or 2.7 if they have implemented full 16bits storage) yet another improvement. Also this could be the slowest case including onboard jpeg.

The question was about the shutter lag, the time between pressing the shutter release button and the shutter firing. This is 0ish on the M8.

The first pic OK but the second one? If you take 2 pics in one second how long does it make?
