Nugat, your excessive use of adjectives is out of order. They do not apply, as far as I know, to any of the moderators, of which I am one. I invite you to ponder on why this forum is arguably the best and friendliest on the net. It doesn't just happen! Admin and moderators do a lot to stabilize the ebb and flow of emotions that inevitable occur. We are human and make mistakes, just like you. I like to think we are all big enough to admit when wrong and move on. To be criticized for a voluntary, if imperfect service is unreasonable. Please think on it.

I find one adjective in my post: "lame" as the modifier to "explanation".

Of course since English is not my native tongue I could be totally wrong what the word "adjective" means, so please correct me as to avoid the excesses in the future.

Piotr

The chorus has been swelled by another, welcome home Mark. This forum is a daily delight for me, instructive and entertaining at times and it would have been a more barren visit without your participation.

I realise it would be too much to expect an anatomy of an M9 but where there is a precedent.....:)

I think Erl meant an excessive use of nouns (but I think you probably guessed that anyway;)).

It is great to see that one of the Stalwarts of this forum and the only man brave enough to take the M8 apart and share the insight with all other members is well and truely back in the family.

Thank you for returning Mark and I look forward to many more of you informative and interesting posts.

Aw rite!

So the German mods have it way easier since the noun capitalization rule makes them stand out and as such easier to intervene when excessive numbers are used!

Alles klar!

Mark,

Welcome back. Your input has not just been with the M8. Your work on old, antiquated filmstock has been a revelation too. It inspired me to develop an old roll of film last year of my Grandfather (who died in 1981) found in his old Yashica Electro 35. Your post on the film you found from the Christmas party during the war, was fantastic. Here's the picture of my Grandfather (and Grandmother), which none of us ever expected to see.

Best wishes,

Charlie

I've never been to a Welcome Back party on the forum but here goes:

I've too busy in the last few days to miss you so I didn't get to miss you at all but if I had realised you were gone, I definitely would have missed you.

Welcome back, Mark :)

Btw, where are the cakes and tea for this party?

I'm glad I missed the controversy, and glad it's been resolved reasonably. Life's too short for Internet food fights. And Mark's too good not to be here! Welcome back, Mark.

Charlie, has this film been in the camera since 1981?

If so, it is incredible that you got any image at all.

Nice find, tho. What a nice treat for the family.

Bill,

Yes, it was shot in 1981, sat in camera and was processed last year after reading Mark's posts on recovering images from some film from the 1940s. I hadn't dare process it until I read Mark's post, as I was frightened that I might lose everything. But in fcat I got several printable shots like this one.

What was even more remarkable was the fact that Mark had traced the images to a Post office party in the 1940s in the US. I can't remember the town, but I'm sure Mark can enlighten us.

Thanks

Charlie

Charlie, I'm afraid it wasn't me, must have been a different Mark!

Oh well, nothing wrong with reflecting in someone else's glory. Now I've checked, it was another Mark - Mark Antony!

Still, it doesn't stop me from joining the resounding chorus for the returning (actually never departed) Mark.

Best wishes,

Charlie

Imaginary and complex numbers are just as real as "real' numbers, maybe more so. The same applies to Mark's imaginary departure, this would have been bad news and I am happy that things seem to be resolved.
