Prior to the Solms meeting there was a sticky listing what Forum members wanted to see in the next generation M camera....Does anyone have this list? It will be interesting to see how many of the suggestions are included in whatever is released in September?

Sigh - use the search function if you want to start a senseless thread...Comparing a list compiled by a self-appointed committee to cameras the specifications of which are unknown.

I have used the search function and found some items of "wishes" but I have not managed to find any consolidated list. I remember seeing something that resembled a makeshift list of things that members asked for .....from memory as I recall there were items such as:

> O rings for water and dust sealing

> EVF

> Live view

> Saphire scratch proof rear screen cover (like M8.2) as standard

> Access to memory card without removing base plate

> S2 graphics chip circuitry

> Full frame sensor ....and much discussion about the spec. of this sensor

> Higher ISO numbers

> Provision for Autofocus lenses to be introduced later

> Provision for Lens data to be fed back to the viewfinder (aperture selected)

> Flash metering....some feedback was given for improvements as I remember.

> Button for storing exposure reading

> Larger Viewfinder

> Improvements to frame line accuracy in Viewfinder

> reduce camera size to M7 using latest smaller size electronics

> Fit a socket for sensor...... to facilitate replacement

> Reduce 2 circuit boards to one for easier assembly and repair.

> Cover glass for sensor should be with an IR filter if now this is technically feasible (previously not possible 3 years ago)

Jaapv if the above are in error and are not requirements please let me know. If I have missed others or if a consolidated list of what was asked for is still in existance again I would like to see it.

I am not interested in comparing the wish list today against what is rumoured to be announced shortly. I do think it will be interesting to see if Leica have taken note of any feedback given here when the beast is eventually released in September as rumoured.

I believe that Leica did take note of the filter holder design proposed here for Noctilux so maybe they have actually taken note of some of the other suggestions.

Doesn't the Noctilux use a filter with a standard screw thread? I think you are confusing the Noctilux with the filter design for the 21/24mm Summiluxes which is similar to what John Milich produced for 16/18/21mm Tri-Elmar. The devil is in the detail eh?

You are right I did mean the John Milich product and you are also right that the devil is in the detail....Thanks for the correction

Well I'm happy to see a post by you that isn't 80 lines long. But then your second post, but you have a list in it.

If only to pump hot air...

I truly don't understand why every post that I read that Frank has contributed to I find your juvenile response. You like a school yard bully and a few of your forum pals have obviously found a verbal punching bag and never miss an opportunity to land a blow. Go back over some of your responses. Some of the rudest, condescending and unnecessary remarks aimed a one member..and Frank in the face of this is mostly always polite.Maybe some of us re getting tired of your blather. You know that the only reason you get away behaviour like this is because of the Internet. Like someone else said, go back to polishing teeth. Please. Do you really think that your posts to this forum have more merit than anything Frank has posted. If you do: you're delusional as well as rude.Just give us all a break. It's very unattractive behaviour in a grown man.

Thanks for this...much appreciated. A number of people have reacted in the same way and it is a pity as Jaapv in particular is very knowledgeable and has a lot to contribute. I wish he and his chums would get back to constructive feedback about Leica related issues.

Here we go again... blah, blah, blah...

Frank when are you going to make your own camera to your own specs? Oh that's right. I forgot. You can't!

You should read the email above from Craftsman and hopefully learn. I have every confidence that you can truly improve.

Yawn etc . zzzzzzzzzzz..... for me. With all respect, Frank, are you bored? Should you not go out and take pictures? With your M8 (#whatever)? Jaap is perhaps a little more vocal than usual, but he is right. This sort of list-fondling leads to nothing.

Just my point.jaap post a tread about whats going to happen to the MP and M7 when the M9 is released and that some how is more relevant? Give me a break. I'll bet dollars to donuts that a good percentage of the internet bullies following on jaaps coat tails were overweight unhappy kids and now are overweight, impotent unhappy Leica geeks.. How's that for speculation. Otherwise why all the unnecessary hostility?:D

Jaap's not an internet bully and I sometimes find Frank's contributions interesting but he does post about the same old stuff all the time. There really is little point in re-hashing what will or wont, should or could be in the probably forthcoming M9.

Jeff

PS I have not made any friends yet and I've been here quite a while now.

ROFL, I guess you don't see any contradiction in the first and last sentences in that quote.
