wilfredo Posted July 25, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I continue to experiment with what I call the "Norman Rockwell Effect" using Color Efex Pro. It all starts with a good RAW file. I went back to Seal Beach, CA. this morning and got these shots using the 90mm Elmarit M lens.
Advertisement Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hi wilfredo, Take a look here Classic Summer Memories. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted July 26, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2009 Wilfredo, What a wonderful series! Each picture has great composition, colors, sharpness and moment. You have captured each of these like it was an orchestrated pose. Wilfredo is the conductor and your subjects, the characters. Bravo!!! Paul
Guest WPalank Posted July 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 26, 2009 Really nice series. #3 really exemplifies the Rockwell formula.
vdb Posted July 26, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 26, 2009 Superb series. I love the effect. I suspect you are using tonal contrast...I too love this tool but have not achieved results this great.
soleforeal Posted July 26, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 26, 2009 Well done series. I especially like the composition on the third shot of the boy holding his prize.

christoph_d Posted July 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted July 26, 2009 Hi Wilfredo, A very nice series, where No. 3, in my eyes, really excells. Well done, Rgds, C.
stuny Posted July 26, 2009 Share #10 Posted July 26, 2009 Wilfredo - An excellent series, all very well composed, but #3 is perfect, and most Rockwellian.
MEB Posted July 26, 2009 Share #11 Posted July 26, 2009 Wilfredo, I agree with the others. Excellent series. Your goal of recalling Norman Rockwell was clearly accomplished with the picture of the boy with the fish! I'm not sure how you are doing these but the results are very impressive. wilfredo Posted July 26, 2009 Author Share #12 Posted July 26, 2009 Thank you all. Yes, I agree #3 is the most Rockwell in appearance. That young boy was really happy with his catch. As I mentioned earlier, I've been using Color Efex Pro, mostly the Tonal Contrast filter in conjunction with PSCS4. Tonal Contrast gives you plenty of control of shadows, mid-tones and highlights and you can go as easy or as strong as you like. Thanks again for the uplifting comments. epand56 Posted July 27, 2009 Share #13 Posted July 27, 2009 Wilfredo, I've totally missed this series (the silly thread that took me here had an utility in the end). What an awfully beautiful bunch of splendid pictures. And I love these colours. The one with the fisherman carrying the big catch is outstanding.
