Advertisement Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hi Dirk Van der Herten, Take a look here Concert . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted November 13, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2006 Really dramatic, Dirk. When I saw your name on the post, I knew it would be good. RD-1, or did you get the M8?
Dirk Van der Herten Posted November 13, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks much for commenting, Brent. This one was indeed shot with RD-1. For the moment no M8 yet, till Leica turns up with a solution for the problems mentioned on this forum.
Overgaard Posted November 13, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2006 Great picture and good quality. There's actually a RD-1 for sale close by me, second-hand of cause, and this picture once again opens up the question...should I?
Dirk Van der Herten Posted November 13, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted November 13, 2006 Great picture and good quality. There's actually a RD-1 for sale close by me, second-hand of cause, and this picture once again opens up the question...should I? Don't hesitate for a moment. RD-1 is excellent. Even if you have/will have an M8 it can continue to be useful.
martinop Posted November 13, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 13, 2006 Well framed shot complimented by the lighting, colors and shallow DOF. Like the focus on the guitar player + the OOF singers in the background.

Even if you have/will have an M8 it can continue to be useful. I am hesitating. I had a PanaD2 dying of rain and I'm about to buy not one but two D2's to be sure I have what I need. And still I need more than that to cover all needs (I've started to shoot for WireImage.com as well and they want digital) I'm not sure I can give all those cameras the love they deserve. I also have my film cameras to take care of. Anyway, we discussed it an hour ago and if the price goes down a little bit I migtht jump onto it :-) I'm in a bit of a personality split on the digital versus film why I'm acting a bit slow on the D2, RD-1 and DMR. kld Posted November 14, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 14, 2006 Great shot. The Noctilux properly 'digged out' the guitarist. -- Klaus

stuny Posted November 15, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 15, 2006 Dirk - Yes, very dramatic, and expertly rendered in every way. My only quibble with it is something beyond your control: The very cool spot on the guitarist is in some ways disturbing, but it is true to the moment. Award yourself some more PM.
