jacobh Posted July 13, 2009 Share #81 Posted July 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Taking the question literally , my answer is yes, but: 1) I would have hoped that the R10 be reshaped. To my taste the R8/R9 styling is straightforward horrible an I wonder how many potential buyers have been chased away by it. 2) The R9 (I have one) does not fit properly in my hand, only with the motor drive and grip it is a pleasure to use. But frankly, I prefer to use the R8 for the grip of the body. Nevertheless, as probably many an R-user I have been waiting for the FF digital solution, and thus I would have bought it even if the styling remained. Advertisement Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Hi jacobh, Take a look here Poll - Would you have bought an R10? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jrehorek1 Posted July 13, 2009 Share #82 Posted July 13, 2009 Yes, I would have bought an R10 for pretty much any price Leica chooses to ask. My R8 body which I bought in 1996 still works without problems. The DMR.with all its limitations gives excellent results. Even if I cut the losses and sell all my R-gear & switch to S-line, it would hardly offer same amount of flexibility as does/ did the R. Curious about more info regarding 'adequate' solution for R-lens owners from Leica. Jiri
Sandokan Posted July 13, 2009 Share #83 Posted July 13, 2009 No. I am happy with my DMR. If that goes, then maybe; but I would probably look at a Canon with adaptor first.
johnnyj Posted July 13, 2009 Share #84 Posted July 13, 2009 Since I have an R8 and R9 now I probably would have bought two R10s.

hamey Posted July 14, 2009 Share #86 Posted July 14, 2009 Sorry Rick. NO DIGITAL CAM is worth that much. So NO to the M8/9,..R10,. S model or any PanaLeica Digital, my Canon G9 will suffice, or anything under A thousand dollars will do me, however I have taken a fancy to the Nikon F6. Ken. And you are in the Leica forum because...? He's probably a M or R shooter, maybe, and feels like doing some trolling. Don't feed the trolls and they go away. Looking at his recent posts he is in the film forum more then anyplace else.
wildlightphoto Posted July 15, 2009 Share #91 Posted July 15, 2009 NO DIGITAL CAM is worth that much. After using film cameras since the late 1960s, Leica reflex since 1979, and the DMR for the last 3 years, I respectfully disagree and I recently bought a backup DMR. hamey Posted July 16, 2009 Share #96 Posted July 16, 2009 And you are in the Leica forum because...? Because I OWN, at present 1...SL,... 2 R7's,... 1 R8, ...1 R9 and the M7. 28mm - (2) 50mm 90mm 100mm 180mm 35-70mm 28-90mm and the 80-200mm and a 35mm asph M. 3 slide projectors. and other Leica items. And in the past R3, R4 and R4mod. So do you think I have a right to be on this Leica forum and make some comments. Some years ago I had spent thousands of Dollars on Sony Electronic Video Cams, they are now stuffed and mounted just worthless and no longer repairable. So do you think I going to repeat my silly mistakes. Now does anybody else think I am a troll because I speak the truth. Doug. On many occasions on this forum I have always praised the DMR and always will, but I don't consider it as a Digicam. Ken Ps...... I will be happy to show anybody my receips for these listed items as proof of ownership.
hamey Posted July 16, 2009 Share #97 Posted July 16, 2009 Borrowing from a popular (in the USA) Chevy vs. Ford bumper sticker: I'd rather push my Leicaflex than drive a CaNikon. You might be right Doug. But my little Canon G9 is very good, owned it for 16months and has never given me any problems. As for the Nikon F6 it could be their last pro film camera, so it would be nice to have. And my respects to Nikon, I have to praise them after all they still design there system around their F mount. Cheers.

berndr Posted July 16, 2009 Share #100 Posted July 16, 2009 Hello, yes, I would have bought one R10 for a price up to 5000 Euros. I would like to put my R lenses on a Sony A900 body with a R bajonet. But I see no possibillity for stopping down the aperture automatically. The problem isn't the stop down mechanism, this might be done by a motor or by a special mechanics. The problem is to tell the body the actual aperture used. The R lenses have different gradients for the aperture setting. The only possibility I see is an electronic routing of the ROM signals to the Sony contacts. Hello world, I would buy such a body for nearly the same price as for the R10, can't you realise this? Kind regards, Bernd.
