stuny Posted May 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The YF 12-A, and its reconnaissance version (SR-71), still fascinate me, four decades after I saw and heard one up close. Unless there is something super secret, it istill is unmatched in many performance measurements. These shots are aboard the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum. pauledell Posted May 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2009 Stuart, What a great series of our military history. Each image has wonderful clarity, colors and composition. I envy you for having so many venues to photograph. Paul

stuny Posted May 20, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted May 20, 2009 Paul, Soleforeal, Ravi & virgil - Thank you. You can clarly see how enamored I am with this a/c. BTW: The last one I shot from the bridge, through the slanted, tinted glass, with the lens partly in contact with the glass. This made it absolutely necessary to do some post processing to remove the tint and rebuild the contrast.

stuny Posted May 21, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted May 21, 2009 John - Thank you. Sailors and marines are all over the city (Fleet Week started eysterday with a parade of warships up the Hudson - No, I couldn't go), so Barbara and I have been practicing saying, "Hello sailor, new in town?"
