Advertisement Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Summaron 3.5 cm, 3.5 goggled shot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted April 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2009 Delightful colour, remarkably sharp and a definite 3d quality. LouisB
jaapv Posted April 16, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted April 16, 2009 Yes the colour rendition is really good, I think, so many shades of green captured. And certainly a lens for a foggy day too. Full aperture...
stuny Posted April 16, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2009 Jaap - Both beautiful for light, color, composition, detail and depth. Can you someday repeat #1 with a blue sky? #2 doesn't need it.
jaapv Posted April 17, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 17, 2009 Jaap - Both beautiful for light, color, composition, detail and depth. Can you someday repeat #1 with a blue sky? #2 doesn't need it. Hmmm... Yes, I am just starting to teach myself masking in LAB, so in some time I guess I can
Michael Hiles Posted April 17, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 17, 2009 On the M8. I was amazed... @4.0 This is really nice. This lens gets a bad press - I think it is undeserved. I have one (no goggles, works on my M2) and it is just fine. I am sure that more modern designs are an improvement, but the good old f3.5 Summaron continues to provide impressive pictures. I don't need a fast 35mm and I have no reason to change.

wizard Posted April 17, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 17, 2009 Jaap, the weak "parts" of this lens get cropped off when using the M8, so you remain with what is quite decent indeed. I like your second shot. Regards, Andreas
vdb Posted April 20, 2009 Share #9 Posted April 20, 2009 Wow, brilliant colors, clarity, detail and #2 is great for atmosphere.
roguewave Posted April 20, 2009 Share #10 Posted April 20, 2009 Jaap, a perfect fit of lens & setting. Although I sold my Summaron 2.8 recently, I loved the colors & the sweetness of the images. This misty view is delightful. The LAB work is showing real improvement. Forge on!
SJP Posted April 20, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 20, 2009 I really like no.2 - very mysterious. I have the ungoggled summaron 35/2.8 is that the same lens optically? I think it has a slightly warm hue which may change the color of the foliage. See here on M8 and M2 respectively: Flickr Photo Download: L1000456 Flickr Photo Download: F1000027 All my summaron 35/2.8 pics
