EJohnE Posted March 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't find the Leica reference number of the minus 2 correction lens for R8 or R9 anywhere. The Leica website is hopeless, as is the instruction manual for the camera. If it is not some esoteric secret, could somebody tell me where to look, or better, let me know the rotten number! Thanks, EJohnE.
Advertisement Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hi EJohnE, Take a look here R8/9 correction diopter lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted March 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2009 Do you need the -2 correction in addition to the built-in dioptre correction?
EJohnE Posted March 19, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted March 19, 2009 Thanks for your interest. Yes, my ancient eyes need about -3 to -4 correction. EJohnE

EJohnE Posted March 20, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted March 20, 2009 Thanks very much for the info re the -2 correction lens. It never occurred to me to look under "Photography" on the Leica site. I thought that was for pretty pictures. Back to the asylum. John.

masjah Posted April 1, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 1, 2009 UK dealer Ffordes has them listed at £65. Don't know what that is in your currency.
EJohnE Posted April 2, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted April 2, 2009 Thanks for the information re the correction lens minus 2 diopter. I have just paid for a near- mint R8 from Ffordes to replace the one with the wrecked shutter. A pity I hadn't thought of a correction lens at the same time. I certainly will order one from either them or from the German people. John.
EJohnE Posted April 22, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted April 22, 2009 Thanks again for the information. I ordered and have received a -2 & a -3 diopter correction lens from SH, together with a 5 metre release and a matte screen with grid. The whole lot cost me about the same as if I had ordered only one correction lens and a screen in Australia - even with the €40 for p/p. Gawd 'elpus if I forget the lens when using the right-angle finder. John.
