carylwithay Posted March 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) We are going to a fantastic flower show at the museum tomorrow. Every year I take a different camera and am never satisfied with the results. The M8 was too difficult to focus in a crowd. I have set the D Lux 4 for portrait and this seems to work. Any other suggestion? Caryl

vdb Posted March 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 16, 2009 Caryl, you seem to be a magician with color. How can anyone suggest more?
carylwithay Posted March 16, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted March 16, 2009 Thank you. My concern was sharpness and toning to get the most out of each flower at the show. I can always change the colors but I do not want to over or under expose. I have been testing it all afternoon. I think Portrait is the way to go. I tried Food but that got to much contrast. USA road racer Posted March 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 16, 2009 Just a quick question~ what did you use for white balance? Did you try any adjustments or corrections?
carylwithay Posted March 16, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted March 16, 2009 I set the WB by shooting at white paper but I am not sure if that WB goes with the Portrait setting. I am still a bit mixed up on how to set each setting and the joystick is microscopic Caryl
jaapv Posted March 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) A bit of Magic Realism transposed into a still life. I like this one very much, Caryl. Imo it is one for a large print.
