Dirk Van der Herten Posted October 27, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) A while ago I had the opportunity to accompany three Zen monks on their begging meditation in Kyoto. I think I posted one of these photos on the old forum. If you click on the underneath link, you can see an audio slide show of some more shots of these monks. All photos were taken with a Digilux 2. This is my first attempt to create a slide show. So don't shoot at the pianist. Zen Monks slde show Welcome, dear visitor! andybarton Posted October 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2006 No need to shoot the pianist, Dirk. That's a superb slide show. Slide 1 is terrific. Thanks for sharing these.
cbretteville Posted October 27, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2006 Dirk, These are fantastic! The only one I feel is a bit off is the one where you've cut off the top of the monk's head. To me that is framed too tightly - but then I'm a traditionalist when it comes to composition. Very well done and no need to excuse your self for this slide show. - Carl

stunsworth Posted October 27, 2006 Share #13 Posted October 27, 2006 Dirk, hand on heart these are as good as anything I've ever seen on this forum. You have done very well with this series. And thank you for converting to b&w, they would have been much weaker in colour IMHO.
martinop Posted October 27, 2006 Share #14 Posted October 27, 2006 Well done & impressive series. The music + the atmosphere & scenes (people, street and buildings), DOF and BW format accurately depict the culture. I have been to Kyoto a number of times and your series brings back great memories..
robert_parker Posted October 27, 2006 Share #15 Posted October 27, 2006 Dirk These are an outstanding set of pictures and beautifully suited to B+W. I'm totally impressed with your Soundslides presentation, which presents the slides beautifully and the music adds to the effect substantially. fotografr Posted October 27, 2006 Share #16 Posted October 27, 2006 Bravo, Dirk! Magnificent images and a wonderful slide show presentation. Every shot is beautifully toned, well composed and thought out. The effort you put into them really shows. Are you still working with the RD-1? sfage Posted October 27, 2006 Share #19 Posted October 27, 2006 Lots of hits there. Good work. Personally, I never take pictures of people. It's very difficult to get shots of people that I like. You have a lot of good ones there.
