Hey thanks Buddies.

I did that wiki too!

I am about to start working with a Mamiya RZ67 and it's a setting on it - I was just noodling around learning about the camera and it said this on Wiki P

'RZ67 is able to operate in AEF mode with a measuring viewfinder, which transmits exposure information directly to the body, and in RBL compatibility mode'

All of which is goobidlyguook (another question - how does one spell goballdeeguk?) to me, as I am an 'arts' photographer and not so good with technical stuff.

eep, am I about to be ostracized?

AEF is still not defined - and I guess they factory just made it up to put some sort of "advanced text" on there (probably stands for Auto Exposure with F-lenses)

Anyhow.

How many of you have ever looked through all your camera (buttons and menus) and cleared up the things you didn't fully understand?

I often do this with cars, cameras, software programs, etc. (you'll find the most interesting features like dimming the light, disabling the brakes, how to create 15 degree vertical typefaces in a graphic program, etc)

The icons on small cameras are the worst. Whenever I have a photo seminar, it's a sure winner that the WB symbol seemed to surreal to all users that they never found it worthwhile to find out what it stands for. Hence, they newer used White Balance - which is the next most important thing in digital photography to get right (light metering is no 1).

Year, I know. I just get so mad whenever some "engineers" try to make things advanced by creating complexities.

Nah. The M4, that's a camera. A piece of metal with four buttons or so and no battery. Genius piece of engineering with complexities all over the inside, made simple onthe outside.

oh but The M1 is superb!

Thanks for all ye help. I still find so much stuff that sounds like jargon in photography, and with the added inconvenience of having a not-very-adhesive-brain, well, all these codes get confusing without the actual camera and functions being played about with.

Mamiya ja ja ja.
