It is in the US, it is in New jersey, and it is in the same county at Summit.

 

It is a colonial building with historic significance, and Stephen gave a sly and clever hint.

Correct.  Washington used it for winter encampment during the snowiest winter on record.  Both sides of the war encamped until roads were passable, which didn't happen until June in 1777 (or was it 1779?).

Asamkirche, Munich.

 

Luckily we were there only a few weeks ago ..... unfortunately it is gated and locked between services ...... and you can't really enter and take photos when it is in use ....

Muchen is correct, but not Asamkirche. Though I can see the similarities. This one was built from 1583-1597 and is being viewed (from what I have read) as the most important Renaissance church of Germany. Pretty close to the Frauenkirche.
