robsteve Posted January 25, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) A bit of pond hockey with the 50mm Summicron and M8. Actually, it was on a lake in my back yard.
Advertisement Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hi robsteve, Take a look here Pond Hockey. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted January 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2009 Robert - Both excellent, but #1 is superb for moment, action, framing, light, color and detail.
vdb Posted January 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2009 I agree with Stuart, #1 is fantastic!

robsteve Posted January 27, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted January 27, 2009 Thanks everybody. Here is the first shot cropped into the goalie. This is at the full resolution of the file. In other words it is just a crop out of the full file and not resized.
Red Dot Posted January 28, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 28, 2009 Rob, This goalie is great, The Leafs could use him hahaha... As Cherry would say, "These are good Canadian boys, god love em...." Cheers...
jaapv Posted January 29, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Now Rob, this is not done. You know full well that the M8 is utterly unsuitable for taking any sports action shot at all:p . Great work, especially #
Michael Hiles Posted January 29, 2009 Share #8 Posted January 29, 2009 Rob, This goalie is great, The Leafs could use him hahaha... robsteve Posted February 20, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted February 20, 2009 Great action shots Robert MV8 Thanks. If we get another group like that on the ice, I think I will give it another try with a few different lenses. I am tempted to try the WAT at 16mm, right beside the net. j.j.l. Posted April 15, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 15, 2009 Hmm...lighting for #1 is better, but the position of the players is better in #2 I think. Especially the goalie. Good stuff.
neila Posted April 15, 2009 Share #12 Posted April 15, 2009 Excellent - and somehow alien to the Brits as we don't get winters cold enough to have that sort of quality of ice! You use the same lens as me (on the same camera of course), can you remember where you were focussed on any of those shots? On the goal mouth and then backed up a bit? I'm curious! Thanks...
