Pls advise: Is this a bargain.....?

I'm thinking of accepting an offer to buy the equipment shown on the enclosed images:

Leica M2 with Leicameter MC + 2 Summicron lenses (2/50 and 2,8/35). It's a fairly old camera but in rather good shape, I would think. The seller suggests something like EUR 800 / USD 1100.

Should I go for it or walk away ?

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance !

The 35mm lens must be a Summaron, not a Summicron (as that would be f2).

In any case assuming the lenses are free from haze/marks/fungus and the camera is working OK, the price is very good. Don't worry about the meter, which may well have given up or have a dead battery. The M2 is an early 'button rewind' model just like mine! Lovely camera.

If you decide not to buy it give me the sellers number!

Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

Depends on the state it is in but the running price in the market in NL would be:

M2 B- 900 euro

50/2 B 400 euro

35/2 B 1150 euro

Leicameter MC 200 euro

see: Schouten Select Cameras & Accessories!

On the other hand I got my M2 + 35/2.8 for 600 euro including the cost of CLA about 1 year ago, so prices are variable to say the least.

The button rewind does show that the camera must be from 1958 or 1959. A CLA is of course indicated. The v.2 (rigid) Summicron is probably the same age. This lovely kit does deserve a good home.

The Leicameter MC, if still functioning, will have an old and tired selenium cell. A Leicameter MR or MR-4, with a CdS cell, is easy to find and will work well if you put a Wein cell inside.
