beramos Posted October 5, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2006 Beautiful series. The #3 is great for your light and composition.
calshot Posted October 5, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 5, 2006 Nice set of pictures. Your title would suggest you took the easy way up? You can see for miles in the colour shot. Rob
martinop Posted October 5, 2006 Share #6 Posted October 5, 2006 Enjoyable scenery. Like the compositions and contrast shown in #3 and #4.
jmr Posted October 5, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 5, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Michael, four nice shots. The first seems to have more potential in it - the ground is lacking in tonal separation to my eye - but perhaps that's the way you intended it to be
ddp Posted October 6, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 6, 2006 Really like number 3.....contrast is striking
Michael-IIIf Posted October 6, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks for all your comments. John, I don't know if that's the way I intended it - I just point the camera and press the button. I'm a happy snapper me. Rob, Yes a fairly easy way up from Rhyd Ddu http://www.hightrek.co.uk/snowdonia/routes.htm on a busy beautiful Saturday we only met two other groups on the whole walk. That was, until we reached the top.
arminw Posted October 6, 2006 Share #10 Posted October 6, 2006 Breathtaking views, great pictures! I've never been to Wales, but after seeing those pictures I must plan a trip soon.
kld Posted October 7, 2006 Share #11 Posted October 7, 2006 Very nice landscapes. I like the well-balanced tonality in the first two as well as the going with motifs more rich in contrast last two. Well composed, especially #3. Good results for a short walk. -- Klaus
elansprint72 Posted October 7, 2006 Share #12 Posted October 7, 2006 Very nice set, particularly like #1 & #3. Cheers, Pete.
calshot Posted October 7, 2006 Share #13 Posted October 7, 2006 Well the easy route should not be underestimated can be tiring. You were clearly blessed with the weather on your trip Michael. I would recommend that Arminw finds time to visit Wales North & South are both stunning. rob
albert Posted October 7, 2006 Share #14 Posted October 7, 2006 Michael, I see all of them as good work. # 4 is my favorite. I have never captured and / or posted a photograph RAW with my D2. I have owned this camera since March, 2005. Please tell me about RAW......I honestly don't know....... although I see postings about it all the time.....Al
Michael-IIIf Posted October 8, 2006 Author Share #15 Posted October 8, 2006 I have never captured and / or posted a photograph RAW with my D2. I have owned this camera since March, 2005. Please tell me about RAW......I honestly don't know....... although I see postings about it all the time.....Al RAW in one paragraph eh? Here goes in summary;- amongst the advantages are: 16 bit depth of colour (instead of 8 in jpeg), ability to easily adjust white-point colour balance, ability to correct over and under exposure. Disadvantages: slow write time on the D2, bigger files, you have to spend time "developing" each image afterwards. Get your D2 manual out and give it a whirl. Thanks for your comments.
