I would like to join the marinated salmon/duck/ile flottante party, please.

I love your picturesque translation ('english cream and eggs in snow'). Was it Edgar Allan Poe who said of Baudelaire, 'it loses something in the original'?

Many thanks for all your hard work on this, Pascal.

Well, I must withdraw. I will be in Paris for business and won't be able

to shoot with you, seeing my former city with an outsider's eye…!

Pity, because it was also an outstanding opportunity to put faces on words…

Nice catches to all!

P.S. May I suggest next year in Brussels ?:D

Yes, thanks for the maps/directions.

I'm heading back on Eurostar at about 8pm so can't make the meal, but is the plan still to meet back at the pub after the shoot or are people heading off after lunch and meeting up again at the restaurant?

I'm just trying to plan what I will do with my afternoon/evening after the shoot.

Cheers

Anyone who wanted to could meet up back at the pub after the shoot - that's what's happened in previous years and what I plan to do do this. Of course some people may want to leave straight away after the shoot, there's no compulsion about rejoining everyone else.

Kerouac's translation of 'rue des Francs Bourgeois' as 'street of the outspoken middle classes' :-)

Wonderful!

Thanks for the maps, BTW. And the Paris pictures. They really whet the appetite for a few days there.. I spent a couple of weeks staying in a flat in the Rue Leopold Bellan, just off Rue Montorgueil -- very close to the Frog and Rosbif -- two years ago. Pairs is just so extrordinarily evocative -- I'm not sure what of -- apart from Paris, of course -- just evocative.....

Am looking forward to meeting up with you all on Saturday.

John

I used to live on rue St Honore about 10 minutes walk away, so I have to confess I know the area reasonably well.

My only concern now is that there is some European championship football later in the afternoon, so it's possible that the place will be very busy after the shoot. If that's the case then we can always arrange to meet somewhere else after the shoot. Something to decide on the day.

God, I hate football! Still, it may lead to some photo opportunities... ;)

Regards,

Bill

Can I assume that this is the sort of place that might show The Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia matches?

If so, an alternative "tea time" venue might be a very good idea

Indeed it is Andy. I saw a reference to the game on the TV this morning.

There are plenty of cafes in the area. I will select an alternative on Saturday morning and if necessary convey the information to everyone at 12.

Just to reiterate, we will still meet at 12 at the Frog and Rosbif.

Hmmm, I was actually thinking of catching some of the game if I could find a bar showing it! Didn't occur to me it would be on at the Frog. Perfect!

Match kicks off 5pm (6pm in Paris) so we should be fine to meet back at the Frog after the shoot? Less chance of losing people that way too.

Cheers
