ejd Posted September 23, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted September 23, 2006 I prefer this composition to the other one -- although the contrast between the colours of the boats and the church was good there.

elansprint72 Posted September 23, 2006 Share #5 Â Posted September 23, 2006 Actually a piece of "modern art" which has some artistry about it- what a refreshing change! Of the photos I prefer the B&W one but... I also like the colour one, with a drastic crop to just above the level of the lowest windows. Â Well seen. Â Pete. ejd Posted September 24, 2006 Share #9 Â Posted September 24, 2006 Your picture seems to have shown up in this morning's Observer (Review, page 16), Andy, but they appear to have disgracefully omitted to give you proper credit.
andybarton Posted September 24, 2006 Author Share #10  Posted September 24, 2006 John  Just been and spent £1.70 and can confirm that this is indeed the same place, with the shot taken from a very similar position.  Can't be mine though.  But, thanks for the heads-up!
andybarton Posted September 24, 2006 Author Share #11 Â Posted September 24, 2006 And here's a version for someone who privately requested that I turn up the saturation to 11... Â Â Â
stunsworth Posted September 24, 2006 Share #12 Â Posted September 24, 2006 Nice one Andy. Personally I'd prefer a crop just above the peak of the arch, i.e. no sky in the shot. Not sure about the over saturated version though.
andybarton Posted September 24, 2006 Author Share #13  Posted September 24, 2006 Thanks Steve  These things are there until the end of November I think.  I will go back when there is a better sky - this afternoon would have been good...
stunsworth Posted September 24, 2006 Share #14 Â Posted September 24, 2006 Yes the sky lacks interest IMHO, but then again if it had been bright you could well have lost detail in some of the shadows.

stuny Posted September 24, 2006 Share #16 Â Posted September 24, 2006 Andy - Â Thanks for posting these. Most amusing and well executed. Please do return to see if you can find that more interesting sky.
zanydave Posted September 25, 2006 Share #17 Â Posted September 25, 2006 It's the B&W for me. If you can get some detail in the sky you have a winner. Â Dave
