norbertnl Posted September 22, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) When travelling in a train or in an airplane I'm always curious who's sitting in front of me. Mostly, all you get is just a glimpse: Ingredients: M6, 'lux 50, Provia 100, Coolscan V, young man with earphone, diesel railcar of the Netherlands Railways. andybarton Posted September 22, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2006 I like this. Good job you were using an M, otherwise he would have heard you. Oh, hang on, ...
stuny Posted September 22, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2006 Norbert - This is appealing for its light, colors subject "crop", details and bokeh.
norbertnl Posted September 22, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 22, 2006 Good job you were using an M Andy, I was glad I didn't bring the Hassy Stuart, thank you for your comment. With a 50 I tend to crop tightly. On an M it feels like a longer than average lens for me. Norbert
Dirk Van der Herten Posted September 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2006 Very much like the bokeh, light and colour.
ejd Posted September 22, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2006 A very suggestive photograph. A familiar situation. And I think you have caught the essence of it really well. It's pure Steinkamp, I know, but could there be hints of Tillmans here too? I'm thinking of a couple of pictures of his, also taken on a train, I think called 'Soldaten'. jmr Posted September 22, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 22, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Norbert, good shot. I think the angle you've captured it at really adds to the effect.
norbertnl Posted October 16, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted October 16, 2006 Very much like the bokeh, light and colour. Dirk, thank you; with your 50 there would have been even more bokeh ;-) Best regards, Norbert
norbertnl Posted October 16, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted October 16, 2006 could there be hints of Tillmans here too? John, you're flattering :-) I like Tillmans' work, but I must admid I haven't seen the 'Soldaten' yet. My picture only reflects a private moment in a public space, so as I saw it.
