Hmmm maybe I'll leave my credit card at home

You know how these dealers work. They start by offering you a little Elmar at a low price. Once you fall for that you'll find yourself being offered a Summicron, and before you know what's happened you've hooked and have developed an insatiable Noctilux habit that can only be satisfied by selling the children.

Nice to meet you all today (auld acquaintances and new)! I only regret that I had to leave earlier than I would really have liked.

Many thanks to Louis for a most interesting and successful tour. I must get back round there again soon.

Next one pre-Christmas?

PS - Not only did we not shoot the Trooping of the Colour, but we missed the Naked Bike Ride in central London

Well done to everyone who came along today - and many thanks to Ivor for buying the first round in the pub!

I was once again impressed with what a nice bunch of people Leica owners are.

If we did want to do a walk around Hampstead, I'd suggest a meeting date early in October. The weather could still be fine but it is far enough away to start putting something in the diary. (say 4/10 or 11/10?).

We could still meet in December, for a purely seasonal-type social?

Just a thought

A very big "Thank you," Louis, for organising and conducting a great meeting.

I had a very good time, exploring parts of the East end that other "tourguides" never reach and that I hadn't visited before either. And the multiple fly-past was a fantastic surprise, brilliantly timed. I didn't know you had such high level acess to the RAF.

And, yes, what a great crowd of really nice guys. I very much enjoyed meeting up with you all. Some photos are on the way.

Thanks, all,

Tim

It was terrific to meet with everyone, some for the first time, and others once again. Many thanks to Louis for organising this and leading us around the sites of Whitechapel and Spitalfields. Excellent photographs, Nick! I may have one or two in the coming weeks. All the best, John

Louis - 11/10 is the One Challenge weekend in Krakow so a number of potential attendees may well be otherise occupied!

I will have some shots (hopefully) but they'll appear once I have finished the film!

Guys, I've started a thread in the Other section (we'll begin to upset Andy if we post them here).

Bryan, it was only afterwards that I realised that one date was the same weekend as the one challenge.

I'll leave proposals for alternate dates open to others to suggest.

Good to meet everyone on Saturday, and I'm glad I managed to catch up with the tour! Thanks Louis for showing us some backstreets that I'd probably never have seen - even though I've been to Brick Lane many times before.

Thanks also to Ivor for the beer.

I'll post some of my shots in the other thread.

It was great to see some familar faces again and some new faces. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and many thanks to Louis for his guided tour and informative but witty dialogue! Next time would you ask the RAF to kindly fly a little lower and a little slower to give us rangefinder users a chance please?

I, too, have added some pictures to the excellent assortment that are already on the picture thread, here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/other/56199-london-leica-meeting-june-14th-pictures.html#post584911

The Hamilton Hall was a good venue although the expected fights failed to materialise so it sounds like we'll have to coincide the next meeting with a Spurs home game. :D

....that's because no one started the contentious "and what's so good about a £3,000 camera that needs IR filters?" debate.....

...and (at risk of a thread hijack) don't forget the London contingent could always take a trip over to Solms for an International Meeting, if they hold it again - a great time was had by all and everyone sent their best wishes
