enboe Posted May 31, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I went to the Leica-camera.com website this morning to see the status of my M7, which is making it's 4th trip back for repairs due to defects (ugh!). I noted that the service section no longer offers the option of tracking repairs. Am I off base in finding this a little unsettling? The repair cycle is already quite long, taking as long as 3-4 months for anything requiring shipment to Germany, and now we have lost the ability to status the repair without going through customer service. I hope they have hired an extra person to deal with all the emails that will result from people wondering when their repairs will be returned. richam Posted May 31, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2008 Eric, I have a 28mm Elmarit in Solms for warranty repairs. I hope it doesn't take as long as your repair, but it tracks ok at: Leica Repair Tracking
enboe Posted May 31, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted May 31, 2008 Thank you for posting the direct link. They have taken the link down on the Leica USA website, but with your link, I can check, at least for a little while longer. Best regards, Eric
JHAG Posted May 31, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 31, 2008 Apparently doesn't work : page downloads, but after typing serial #, nothing happens. I've read in the disclaimer it's optimized for M$oft Explorer. Why choose the worst browser of all ?
richam Posted May 31, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 31, 2008 Just checked the link on Safari, Firefox, and Opera for the Mac. Firefox doesn't work, but the other two are fine. You may need to try another browser to get results.
