Great shot.

I have been sailing Etchells since I bought my first one in 1992.

Robert, do you ever compete in the Mid-Winters on Biscayne Bay? Our club, Coral Reef YC is the usual host of this event. If you do, let me know. Fun boats. A number of our older skippers have taken to wearing helmets. Quite a sight!

I've begun racing Sonars in Long Island Sound. We have a huge fleet and I like this boat very much. A good sized kite and the the loads are very managable for folks in their late 50's & early 60's (me & my crew's age). Down wind, I usually run the spinnaker and can hold the sheet & guy in each hand with no purchase. Very exciting sailing & super competitive.

I never made it to the mid-winter, but back in the 1990's I loaned my boat to a local skipper who raced it at the Biscayne Bay mid winters. I think it was called the Jaguar mid winters back then.

The furthest south I have been with it is North Carolina, and the furthest west, Chicago. In 1997 I raced it at the North Americans in Toronto and finished second, behind Dave Curtis.

Robert, then you are world class sailor. Dave is so revered in Miami. A true Legend. Are you campaigning her in Toronto ? I have owned 4 C&C's and love the racing circuit on the Great Lakes. Too bad they went broke and the tradename was bought up. I have a friend that races a C&C 115 or 110, I'm not sure. He loves it, but I think it's ugly and uncomfortable to sail. WOW, a 2nd in the NA's. That's awesomely cool!
