albertwang Posted September 11, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 11, 2006 Interesting shots... reminds me of Johnny Depp? Is metrosexuality a culture or a style of looks?
vic vic Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted September 11, 2006 hi albert - depends how deep are people into it. real metrosexuals are culture... culture where man usually lost his MAN-KIND values. but since we live in global culture era etc, ya - it is also the "style of look", that every one of us are infuenced. i have armani and prada nad trusardi and disel - ya - i have it too, and actually love it. but there is some point where some people start to make it as their essense of life, their essense of being MAN, their "archimedus point of their own galaxy" :-)))) here it becomes metro-sexualism i think. about the "look", ya- this is why those photos are so priented on the "stylized look", even if beised the "bright look" there is a subliminal "dark parody" in it :-)))))))) wait - the next will be some talks about women:-)))) let this its time :-)))))))))
graham_mitchell Posted September 11, 2006 Share #11 Posted September 11, 2006 I wish you had numbered them to make references easy. Anyway, I thought 3 or 4 were excellent. Some of them were just not quite right. The second last was my favourite - bold, classic, great lighting.
semrich Posted September 11, 2006 Share #12 Posted September 11, 2006 Victor, Some of these remind me of Calvin ads, quite in keeping with what you describe constitues "Metro" aand all with what I see as a vic vic signature. Richard
vic vic Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #13 Posted September 11, 2006 thanks richard... ya, indeed, the campigns of big names are also adressed here (u know as part of thsoe who also dictate the metrosexualaism style and culture as albert says) :-))))
biglouis Posted September 11, 2006 Share #14 Posted September 11, 2006 Vic Great set of pictures. Each one is a gem. Most made me smile. I really hate "metro-sexual" man mainly because I am a sad old one! Thanks for sharing LouisB
norbertnl Posted September 11, 2006 Share #15 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi Victor, I like your series! The guy in the pictures acts like he is a prof model, doesn't he? My favourites are the second and third of the Mercedes shots. They're like fooling metro-sex with anachronism. Best, Norbert
Sandokan Posted September 11, 2006 Share #16 Posted September 11, 2006 A young Freddie Mercury? Great series - and I love the car too, a Merc from the 1970's? I wish I were a Metro-Man, as I could then have a handbag in which I could put my camera! But alas .. I am too old and wide across the stomach to be convincing Plus my arm also looks like that - except hanging down:mad:
vic vic Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #17 Posted September 11, 2006 thanks luois and norbert :-)) luois - i "hate" metros casue they usually think about the way the look most of the time. and the way they look is the reason of their existance and indentification (on mental level). norbet - ya - of course prof model. we've been working on cuoples of assignments together. so i just took him, was not sure, cause his acting/playing abilities are limited, but it turned out to be ok. ah - about the mercedes - im mad about this car (although i love more sporty ones). i had alfa romeo spider but it was too bright in the frame and also i wanted a bigger (in dimenssions) car (u can see it with the hands spread all along. the motive was used as - "once upon a time, very well clothed men were driving good cars as well - a kind of italian style, a kind of mafia etc, those probably were not metrosexuals" :-)))))))))))
albertwang Posted September 11, 2006 Share #18 Posted September 11, 2006 I don't care much for metrosexuals... too materialistic and removed like nouveau riche. I'm in the workingclassfellow category... that's it... pennies to save up for leicatreats!
vic vic Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #19 Posted September 11, 2006 graham - thanks man :-)) ha ha ravi... sorry friend - i simply cannot understand why should u want to be metro-man. whats wrong in just take good cloths but NOT to behave like **** :-)))))))))) the merc is 68 sl. really cool car. i have its photos too somewhere - guess not on this computer. :-)))))) albert - for sure more use will be of that than of what metro-man buy (all those face-cares and hand cares etc etc). :-)))))
stuny Posted September 11, 2006 Share #20 Posted September 11, 2006 Vic - A terrific series, best seen in the order you've posted them. The model seems a bit too high on himself, which fits well with your theme. The MB is actually an SE coupe, not an SL -- The SL has always been a two seater (though with the 220/260/280 SL you could order a third seat, sidways, on the parcel shelf behind the regular seats).
