michali Posted January 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) M8 ELMAR 90MM ISO 160 @ f8 Male Boomslang- Africa's most venomus snake, there is no ant-venom for its bite. Luckily this snake is back-fanged and has to get a really good hold to bite you. We rescued this handsome fellow (1.7m long) from one of the lodges. He was about to be destroyed, and we released him into the bush well away from harm's way.... Thanks for viewing, MIKE

Rona!d Posted January 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2008 All outstanding shots, but there are antivenoms against sensor dust
michali Posted January 18, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted January 18, 2008 Ronald- Thanks for the feedback. These pics were taken this morning & I noticed the dust for the first time. I'm in the bush at present & I don't want to start trying to clean the sensor dust with ant-venom until I get back to "civilization" in 2 weeks time. Marquinius Posted January 19, 2008 Share #10 Posted January 19, 2008 Mike, Exceptional shots. And me, being really scared of snakes, watching these three shots for longer than a few seconds, that says it all. Marco
michali Posted January 19, 2008 Author Share #11 Posted January 19, 2008 Thank you everyone for the feedback, input & comments. Marco- I'm probably just as scared of snakes, in fact I guess most of us are. However I have come to appreciate their beauty and almost pre-historic nature. Sadly they are misunderstood much in the same way as the hysteria that has surrounded sharks, and most are killed unecessarily. We have a policy on the game reserve of releasing them back into the wild when they do get into the lodges from time to time, rather than allowing them to be killed. Thanks again, MIKE
