Leica recommends

Zitat

UHS-II (recommended), UHS-I, SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card (SDXC cards up to 2 TB)

Brands i had good experience are
Sandisk Extreme Pro SD
Sony G UHS-II Tough SD
Lexar Gold SD and CF type
I can't remember having any memory card failing in the last 20+ years, but i mostly use high quality, fast cards from well known brands.
i suggest to get the fastest you can find and afford.

[...] What do you recommend as an SD card for the Mev1?

ProGrade, Delkin, Sandisk 64gb cards. Lastly a 64gb Sony Tough card i had issues with on the M11 but it seems to work well on the MEV1 so far. All UHS2 cards.

Delkin Black - I got tired of poor quality Sandisk and others which may have been fakes, as there are so many in the market.

Delkin Black are pro grade, extra tough, and have a serial number to confirm they are genuine with the manufacturer. Also have a lifetime warranty, and speedy replacement should there be any issue.

I won't use anything else now.

I use their 128 Gb, UHS-II, C10, U3, V60 card.

I agree, I only use Delkin Black on the M11 and now the M EV1. Never had an issue with them. I've used both 128GB and 256GB versions.

I noticed that the M EV1 takes longer to show the evf active... Would that be affected by the speed of the SD card?  If not is there a way to make the evf to turn on faster?

The power saving mode is now set at Camera Standby 2 min, Display 1 min...

Thanks for the help!

Default power saving mode here: Camera Standby 2 min, Display Standby 30 sec. Irrespective of cards, the EVF of my MEV1 takes about 2 sec to activate at startup and almost immediate at wakeup. I did no measure though.

My settings: Camera Standby 60min, Display Standby 30s. This is still battery-efficient and avoids slow wakeups.

I tried this with no significant difference re startup or wakeup times so i reverted to the default setting. Thank you for sharing anyway.

Hmm. I just tried it on M-EV1. Wake-up from Display Standby is instant, wake-up from Camera Standby is 2 seconds. By setting Camera Standby to 30 or 60 minutes, the camera is always ready after a half-press of the shutter.

Startup and wake-up times appear to be similar to mine while your camera remains in standby for longer. Interesting setting if battery drain is not an issue. Thank you for sharing.
