Roland Zwiers Posted 1 hour ago Share #1 Posted 1 hour ago Advertisement (gone after registration) In my collection is a puzzling sunshade of telescopic design. It has settings marked for 3,5cm/ 5cm/ 9cm and 13,5cm. Plus engravings for Elmar and Hektor. See the next slides:

Roland Zwiers Posted 1 hour ago Author Share #5 Posted 1 hour ago The sunshade looks original to me. And I can readily understand that it combines with the f=9cm Elmar in closed position. And with a f=13,5cm lens when fully extended. But how can it be suitable for f=3,5cm and f=5cm lenses as well? It would cause enormous vignetting! Is this an engraving error? Kl@usW. Posted 27 minutes ago Share #6 Posted 27 minutes ago (edited) Roland, I have that kind of sunshade in my collection too, albeit in a better condition. I even used it for some time, it works. In my understanding you have to align the lower margin of the upper and outer segment with the engraving. So: fully extended: 13,5 cm half way through: 9 cm nearly collapsed: 5cm fully collapsed: 3,5 cm I stopped using this sunshade because of its weight-it´s all brass and adds considerably to the weight of the set.
