Check the P2P measurements. When the graph PDR Shadow Improvement vs ISO Setting is flat (example SL3), then the camera is ISO-invariant in that range. In the case of SL3, that would be approximately ISO 400-6400.

I've been out enjoying a life and came back to find this discussion has moved on.

Since I've said all I want to say on the subject, anyone reading my posts can take them or leave them. Since I suspect we all know what is going on, technically, frankly I doubt it will make any difference pursuing the argument about words.

Too bad i wanted to know how noise can be an exposure factor. Will be for the next termilogy lesson i guess. Just kidding.

For me, ISO means nothing more than something I can use to see correctly exposed images on the back of the camera. And my LCD screen is permanently covered … 😄
