jaapv Posted 10 hours ago Share #1  Posted 10 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Well that was it.. The CL which had already been degraded to my #5 camera used mainly as an extender for the 70-200 , developed a lens communication error. As Leica deemed a repair not economically feasible ( it is pretty beat up) and offered only a refurb @ 2100 Euro I decided to keep it for manual lenses only 😟 My personal answer to the M-EV1., I guess. Now I have to dig up the AF  lenses to sell…will take a bit of time.

Have you tried cleaning the suspect contacts with a recommended electrical contact fluid? Edited 10 hours ago by wda
jaapv Posted 10 hours ago Author Share #3  Posted 10 hours ago Yes. I have a dust-covered TL as well. Actually quite nice with the 18.
jaapv Posted 10 hours ago Author Share #4  Posted 10 hours ago Of course I went through the contact-cleaning and lens-body switching routine. It was clearly a camera fault. Anyway, it does not pay to use the 55-135 on a ff body as I have the superb 70-200 Sigma. That lens has only been used twice since I got it as anew replacement from Leica.

jakontil Posted 5 hours ago Share #7  Posted 5 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Still quite pricey for a refurb CL though 😟
jaapv Posted 5 hours ago Author Share #8  Posted 5 hours ago Especially as it will not remain repairable for very long any more.
GFW2-SCUSA Posted 4 hours ago Share #9  Posted 4 hours ago I think this is sad news. As I have said before, I think Leica's fropping the CL was a mistake. They don't seem to agree with me.
Photar Posted 2 hours ago Share #10 Â Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Mine is still going strong. Never used the AF functionality, though. Was thinking about buying a backup body but 2nd hand prices are too high for my taste (about twice the price of a new Nikon Z50II). In terms of percentage, an M11 loses more value than a CL.
