The perpetrator(s) left my camera bag right by the rear door untouched despite containing my M10 Monochrom and 50 Summicron, etc. Hope I at least got some nice pics. I am sorry for your car, but wonderful that they were not wise enough to grab the gear!

jlinwinter Posted September 14 Share #64 Â Posted September 14 I upgraded from an SL 601 to the SL2 around March of this year and I'm super happy with it. I think this camera is super intuitive and the UI experience is very organic. It seems to meld into my photographic mind and I'm able to get photos the way I want them very easily. The image quality is amazing and I'm always in awe when opening up my C1 sessions. I'm using only manual lenses, and about to get my first autofocus lens for this system. It's a third party lens, but the 24-90 would be my "end-goal" lens - I still need to save about 2 or 3 years for that into the future, but I'm really looking forward to it! For now, I'm just using my manual summicron-c 40 and voigtlander 21 f3.5 - both of which are incredible lenses that fit very well with the SL2!
chris_tribble Posted September 14 Author Share #65  Posted September 14 @jlinwinter sounds like you’re going in the right direction and have the right attitude to get the modern out of the SL2. I’m still discovering hope for it is in a lot of ways as it’s not my go to carry everywhere camera (this seems to be the Q3 43 at the moment), but each time I bring it out for a job I get both pleasure and amazing quality results from it. Have fun!

I am in the market for a 21 I can use on both SL2 and M10r Here is one of my favourites from that lens. I usually use the Super Elmar M 21 f3.4 profile in sl2 for both setting ibis as well as to get a baseline image that looks amazing out of the camera. (of course you can also set it to a 21mm generic lens for ibis, but I found the 21 sem 3.4 profile works really well out of the camera.) Welcome, dear visitor! chris_tribble Posted Wednesday at 08:53 AM Author Share #69  Posted Wednesday at 08:53 AM Hmm - an interesting evening on Monday covering the Marcin Wasilewski Trio + Emma Rawicz using my revised settings. With Auto Iso at 12500 I had a bit more flexibility in difficult light - but no noticeable problems with IQ. There's a mix below from the set with ISO varying between 4000 and 8000 (just the way it worked it). I'll post one of the few 12500 images in the set after this and give 100% crop.  Conclusion - the SL2 is MORE than good enough for a host of uses. As a post script, I was using Face Recognition AF and the 24-90 + 90-280 on two SL2 bodies that I've had for a long time now! chris_tribble Posted Wednesday at 08:59 AM Author Share #70  Posted Wednesday at 08:59 AM ISO 12500 + 100 crop. The only NR was + 30 Luminance. No AI. If I printed this at A3+ you'd not notice the grain as anything other than something that adds character IMHO! The lens here was the 90-280. A beautiful piece of glass! I used to use the Canon 300 F2 for this sort of work The Leica lens is a lightweight in comparison! chris_tribble Posted Wednesday at 07:58 PM Author Share #71  Posted Wednesday at 07:58 PM … and as a final thank you to the SL2 there’s a fuller set on the first post here: https://www.ctribble.co.uk/performance.html I’m off to Greece next week, and it will be just the Q3 43 for a couple of weeks. I feel very lucky having the choice!  But just think about it, if you’re thinking of buying into the SL system you can buy TWO SL2 bodies for less than price of an SL3!  Or if you’re thinking of “upgrading” you can save your money (especially if you need a working two body set up) and get a Q3 43 for travel and to supplement the SL system (or an M10R with a 35 Leica or voigtlander lens). The SL2 rocks! And it continues to be astounding value used!
