M11-P DNG Resolution

Almost ready to spring for a new 11p and not clear about the variable resolution.  If I chose a lesser resolution than the 60 will the viewed image still be the standard size?

Yes, Both in OVF 😌 and LV and Visoflex 2

The capture resolution is always 60MP and then saved in the setting you have set.
Raw and JPG have different settings.

L- 60 
M-36
S-18

There is no cropping from the full frame 24x36

There is no speed benefit in using M DNG+JPG, the capture is still at 60MP and resized and saved to "M" size

And please do not reduce resolution when buying a 60 Mpix camera.

For all my images on the Mac I use one single 4 TB SSD and at the end of every year I delete most of my images with rating 1 or none. And my SSD will not get full nor do I have problems in Lightroom with the "big" files. And there is no reason why I should not add a second 4 TB SSD as this is no investment nowadays.

So to me that "issue" with 60 Mpix seems to me to be just in the head. Wether you need that or not is not really of any imortance. I would not know either why it should matter. 

This whole thing reminds me of my own experience in around year 2000. I bought a Nikon Coolpix 990 (3.3 Mpix) and the images I put onto a Powerpoint presentation whereas I deleted the originals. More silly I could not have been but It was all about saving space on the disk.

After a few days with my 11 I'd never reduce the resolution.  Between that and using the electronic shutter this 92 year old is batting about 92% technical keepers (all the while keeping the ISO within a comfort zone and not going any lower than 1/15 th of a sec ).  Artistic; not so much :).   I always shoot completely manual.  For me it's quicker. It'd be nice if the ISO wheel was not buried.  Pictures or it didn't happen...I'm too lazy to post pix.

Congratulations and 1/15th handheld at any age is impressive on an M11, at 92 years young it's bloody brilliant!

Me too and hand holding them at 1/15th. I struggle now with that!

Uhhh,,  Not to whip a dying horse... But for you who can't hold a camera steady, what works for me is to jam the camera against my orbital bone (eye socket).   All bets are off if you just barely touch your skull.
