Does anyone else have experience with Visoflex 2 failures? My M11 stopped recognizing the device while out shooting a couple weeks ago on a hot day. I sent it back to Leica NJ and they confirmed the circuit board had failed, and that it could not be repaired. Their best offer was 15% off the price of a new Visoflex...which is very frustrating considering I'm barely six months out of warranty--I had it for two and a half years before it failed.

Is it just bad luck? Have other people had these devices fail on them? I'm reluctant to purchase another one at this point, but it is handy, and I use it for my close focus 35 Summilux.

Sorry to hear.

How hot?  Was in left in direct sunlight? (Just to help others to take care).

It was about 90 degrees. It was out in the sun being used, but wasn't left still in the sun or anything like that. Towards the end of the day it just stopped working mid-shot.

I had a large dust spec on the screen of my VisoFlex2 as well as the sound of a small ball bearing rolling around in it somewhere. Leica Service replaced it with a new one and indicated that the dust is not fixable post-manufacturing. I sure wish they were made better.

Dust spec on acreen seems to be more and more regularly found… seen few cases now

My first Visoflex 2 had a big piece of dust in the illuminated view immediately upon looking through it the first time.  Leica says they do not do repairs on the Chinese made device… they advised for me to send back to the vendor where I bought it and that vendor sent me a new replacement one.

My Visoflex2 is a dust magnet, don't ask me why. I stick a tape this way to avoid dust ingression. Works well so far.
