Smudgerer Posted July 7 Share #1 Posted July 7 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe for some reason I am the only one because I haven't noted anyone else complaining about this, ( except I seem to remember ADAN doing so some time ago ), BUT why am I getting a pop-up almost every time I open the Forum to confirm my Cookie choices........It's really annoying now, no other website I use does this so regularly.
Advertisement Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Hi Smudgerer, Take a look here Why does the Forum website ask so often, ( almost daily ) for Cookie Preferences?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Works for me. 😇 Two Nations divided by a common language, but we call them biscuits, ( and one of the rare occasions that France et Angleterre agree on wordage even though the French of course insist on different spelling ), but yes keeping them in a jar is a good move, well done. Bart D Posted July 7 Share #8 Posted July 7 I assume because the choices you made don't allow the website to write your cookie preferences to your system.

Hmmm....ok, likely but if that was the case wouldn't it be the same for other websites etc etc?.......The Forum website is the only one that behaves like this for me, and it behaves the same over the four other Macs at my place, not just one of them. Oddly annoying.

250swb Posted July 8 Share #14 Posted July 8 No problem on Windows PC, iPhone, or iPad. There are some sites that seem to randomly ask to reaffirm my cookie preferences but not LUF. I never log out of my favourite sites so could this be a factor?
Olaf_ZG Posted July 8 Share #15 Posted July 8 More annoying are those double (bilingual) newsbars popping up over and over again.

I wonder if it is related to newer EU regulations/laws. I never get it in North America, but continually got it in Denmark, Norway and Sweden last month on many web sites. The message included language suggesting that privacy is at least part of the reason.

pippy Posted July 8 Share #19 Posted July 8 23 hours ago, Smudgerer said: Maybe for some reason I am the only one... No. Happens to me every single day without exception. Not every time I log-in but it is a daily occurrence. It only takes a couple of seconds to deal with the mater but rather annoying all the same. It appears regaedless whether I'm using a laptop or a 'phone. I don't have automatic cookie clearance so that isn't the issue. Don't know whether it would make any difference but, FWIW, I'm not using a private browser. Philip.
