maxpower Posted May 15 Share #81 Posted May 15 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why would it affect camera performance if all they did is add a warning message for a specific scenario? Feel like people are overthinking this.
Advertisement Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Hi maxpower, Take a look here Firmware 2.2.2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
R4p70r Posted May 18 Share #82 Posted May 18 (edited) Currently in Bologna Italy. Updated my M11 basic model to this recent firmware version before the trip. Shot with the camera yesterday in the city and Leica Store Bolgna without any issues. This morning 2 hours ago, I switched on the camera, turn on live view to focus with focus peaking via the camera display, no issues. Switched off the camera and the camera froze completely with red LED light permanently staying on. Camera was not turning off. I had to pop out and put back in the camera to end the loop. Did you reset the camera after firmware update? 2

Therefore, I typically update even if the firmware description does not provide an incentive. firmware descriptions also never list all the new bugs that were created during the changes to the firmware. My point is that we don't know whether the update brings something that we need or not. I always assume that an update also contains "hidden" stability improvements. M11 firmware 2.2.2 landing page. Info on ‘lots’ It introduces stricter energy efficiency requirements and impacts various products like TVs, audio equipment, and set-top boxes. The new rules, effective from May 9, 2025, will reduce power consumption in standby mode for products with displays to 0.80W. It is a good thing.
