Updated M-11 via the app with no issues. I am part of the beta test group and as far as I know, there was no beta testing of this version.

It could be that it contains very simple updates to the technical parameters and thus did not require testing?

Is for one experienced an issue. There should never be an update without testing!

time will tell if my actions have solved it

Is the "Reset image numbering" yes/no question as part of a camera reset new?  I remember having to make sure the last pre-reset image I took was on the card to save image numbers.  Or something like that.

I didn’t reset any of the additional options such as profiles or image numbering.

Good news perhaps.
after this update you really want to do a reset of absolutely everything. I reset again and killed the fotos connections and so far the white status light issue has gone.

First time I reset I didn’t reset the fotos pairing Bluetooth it gave the option to not reset and on the second or 3rd wake from sleep the camera froze completely  with a white status light. Did this regardless of card present or not and also made no difference on write options.
after I reset again but this time only not resetting numbering did the issue appear resolved. I just spent two hours shooting similarly to last night and problem is gone.

i have to question if Bluetooth was somehow part of the change or did I just get a blip?

Anyhow my irritation is smoothed and I was additionally calmed by pulling out the m6 for while.

Updated M11 Mono via SD card.  Did a reset as recommended.  All smooth, no problems.  I haven't had any freezes since firmware 1.6.1 but did have a couple of over exposures using auto ISO.  That hasn't reoccured since 2.2.1 so the firmware seems sorted (famous last words?)

I've stopped using Fotos as I just don't need any of the features.  My Fotos connectivity is set to OFF so there is no background battery drain.  Same with SL3 and Q3 where the battery drain was greater.

Interesting. Like @T25UFO, I have all connectivity off, so I haven’t had any issues having not reset that option. FOTOS is a nice app, but not really needed for my purposes — unless they add Leica Looks that work with the M11M in the future, then I’ll reconsider.

I’m curious as to why the EU would feel it necessary to mess about with camera firmware.

Ha ha ha. The EU messes around with everything, like a flailing committee driven octopus, run by the mysterious grey suits.

the good news is that if you work for the EU parliament you get a free hairdresser.

I’m not sure they’d appreciate my contributions. 🤣

I, for one, have no problem with the EU setting standards for product energy efficiency (just as I have no problems with setting standards for safety and health).

If you're outside the EU and dislike it, then you're just collateral damage arising from global trade.

If you're inside the EU and dislike it, well - this country took a decision about that and most people now regret it.

My M11-P has been faultless since purchase so I think I will do nothing for now, on any other camera, I would just always update, with this particular model, I'll play it a little safer.

I don't want to turn this into a Brexit thread, but this shows that, although most were happy at the time, opinions have changed.

Cambridge remains in the UK, although there were discussions after the Brexit vote about declaring independence and remaining.

Actually, the graph you linked shows that less than 50% of the people polled want to rejoin.

As Twain remarked, "lies, damned lies, and statistics"

Sure, and far less than 50% want to stay out - and a lot have no particular view. Read it as you wish.

EU thinks they rule the world! They try through trade to enforce agendas no one else wants! Move there soon and enjoy those good times!
