Nice strap 👍🏻 length? No protection between ring and body?

Harry Benz straps have a unique design that protects the camera body - see example below.  He will custom make any length you want.

As per the above, Harry made it for me. He uses water buffalo hide which is extremely resilient and doesn’t stretch.

The length is 150cm. It’s designed to be worn cross-body with the camera sitting on my right hip. That way when I drop my right hand the camera is right there.

I have three of Harry’s straps and highly recommend them. Each is made by him in his workshop in Canada.

Good choice, as official Leica cognac strap has very sharp metal rings that destroy camera lugs like Pitbull with new sofas.

Harry’s stainless steel split rings are tough to attach because they’re really firm. However, they do not ever come off by accident!🤣

I do not see that design on Kiwimac's strap

Yes, you're right, but all Harry's straps have the same design with thicker leather around the metal ring.  I think Kiwimac has the B strap where the end is slightly smaller, but still provides protection from scratching.

Back to Safari cameras if I may, I'd be keen to know if there's any other Safari owners on here given (at least in Asia Pacific) it's largely sold out. Not sure about other regions.

It's available everywhere in north america and europe.

Safari is not like a limited version, Leica will produce it as long as it sells

Leather will rub the paint off as well just not as quickly as split ring does, mine already shows signs of wearing from the movement of strap only after one month. I wonder why Leica change the design and abandon the plastic strap guard.

That's interesting . . . might have something to do with the Safari finish.  I bought my M11 Mono in December 2023, it is my most used camera and no sign of any wear.  The strap is Harry Benz Pinstripe.  Perhaps the new regular black finish is more robust than Safari green

Added the IDSworks folding thumb grip. The tone is different from the Leica silver and I think matches well with the titanium finish ‘lux.

once a japanese artist made this kind of thumbs, i like the folding design where it saves space.. however seems like too many buttons frm above..but i agree, color seems to match better with the titanium

There’s one for sale at Progear in Auckland. At least it says it’s in stock and their website is usually accurate.

I heard a rumour that NZ was only allocated 2 of them by Leica in Australia. I have one so potentially that’s the other one.

Mine is actually a custom Pinstripe which you can find here

Harry has refined the design a little. Rather than the strap having a second piece sewn on, he’s designed it so that the whole thing is now part of the strap itself, which is obviously neater and stronger.

You can see here how it prevents the rings touching the body.

the benz strap looks very nice.

It's not a contest to see who has the most expensive lens camera combo.

There we two main discussion points here, silver lens / black lens on safari and if it matches and then the brightinstar (which performs well for the price) in pine green.

I'm sure most here own heaps of other lenses.

Well, I can put my 50mm Apo  11811 on. There’s a couple on eBay at around US$20,000. Would that help?
