Have you seen how the EU scalpers have risen the Safari lens prices the second the M11-P Safari was announced? They went from 3700-3800 euros to 4500-4700 euros on eBay alone.

That’s not really scalping. It’s taking advantage of market conditions.

It’s par for the course with Leica stuff. There’s a matching 35mm f2 in brass and black chrome that would go well with the 50mm Apo I have in the same materials.

It’s US$10,000! There’s no difference other than the materials.

Wandering around nearby neighbouring villages with the new M11-P Safari and the classic 50mm 1.4

I have started a gallery for this body on my Leica Camera Travel site.  I hope you enjoy!

Thank you very much Andre’s. As I have no tech skills I decided to use Squarespace to build the page. It has been a simple process that rarely frustrates me 😂
cheers

Wow, serial numbers are at 600xxxx now! Did we rollover with the Safari or the 100 Year tribute M11s?

Interesting... I've seen Leica 100 year (based on M11) which came before the Safari with Serials of 612xxxx (not sure if its intentional).

And the Safari's (based on M11-P) with 600xxxx

Added an Arte Di Mano half case in rally volpe. This is my third case from them and I’m very impressed with the fit and finish.

Does anyone know if or when Leica will sell the spare batteries in the Safari colour? Thanks!

I asked Leica London two weeks ago but got no real answers. They told me I can use normal M11 battery instead. My battery performance is rather  poor, less than 300 shoots on average.

That's very strange for the M11.  The battery life on my M11 Mono is in the region of 500-600.  I rarely use live view and the back screen is off most of the time.  Perhaps that's the reason?

Probably a non issue but do you find there is any internal colour transfer from the inside of the case to the leather of the M11 Safari?

I'm getting better battery performance than I had on my M11.

Try a M11 battery if you have one, or else I'd consider returning it and mentioning it's defected.
