Slender Posted April 25 Share #1 Posted April 25 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all! I am looking to get a Summarit 35, I have a choice of 2 with or without hood. The difference is significant (280 pounds) and the Leica Lens Hood 12400 can be found on ebay for 140£. Apparently it also works for the 30 and 45 elmarit. On the other hand I have my hood for the Leica SL 24/90 #12301. They look awfully similar to me! Has anyone tried or has knowledge if they are compatible? Cheers
Advertisement Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Hi Slender, Take a look here Lens Hoods (Summarit 35 vs Leica SL 24/90). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
davidmknoble Posted April 30 Share #2 Posted April 30 I have not tried the swap. The 35 is like a 28mm in 35mm format, and the SL lens hood is for 24 to 90mm, so I guess it is possible. You can try that and then take a photo of a ceiling at say, f/8, and see if there is any vignetting from the hood. Do you have another S lens to see if the bayonet is the same?
ZHNL Posted April 30 Share #3 Posted April 30 I remember it is compatible. I had both and used 35mm hood for 24-90. 1
Slender Posted May 1 Author Share #4 Posted May 1 aaaah that is wonderful news! THIS may have saved me the better part of 280£!!!!! I loaned my 24/90 to a friend and I am getting the 35 in my hands tmr so I wont be able to check before a dozens days or so, but glad to know the bayonet is the same because hoods look the same indeed!
