BarberShop Posted March 19 Share #1  Posted March 19 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, One of my favourite lenses on the Nikon F system is the Vivitar 28mm f2 MC. Despite the apparent multi-coated (MC) designation, it flares like crazy. And I think it looks phenomenal. Can anyone recommend me a lens like this for M mount? I've been thinking about the Elmarit v1 or 2 but I can't really find any good examples of flaring, and they're very difficult to find anyway (on ebay). Thanks  Welcome, dear visitor! UliWer Posted March 20 Share #3  Posted March 20 Though if you want really strong flare from a Leica lens the pre. asph 35mm Summilux would be your (expensive) friend: at f/1.4 Welcome, dear visitor! Alberti Posted March 20 Share #5  Posted March 20 Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! would this big flare cater to your taste? At the Leica Beaumarchais Paris shop they have such an original 28mm Elmarit 11801 look-alike in a good state (sharp, I tested it) and good price too. Here is the recent remake in action. M9 Monochrome. I actually like the combo of extreme sharp sides and the veiling. caranatar Posted March 21 Share #8 Â Posted March 21 You might want to consider the Brightin Star x Funleader 28 or the MS Optics Apoqualia. They both have pretty bad flare
Theopwildebeest Posted March 21 Share #9 Â Posted March 21 I second the Brightin Star (Funleader) 28mm f2,8 pancake. Small, well made, and flares beautifully!

I'm more interested in the kind of flare that produces shapes. That flares that just obscures a central part of the image with light (e.g. veiling flare) is not really interesting.
