Elmars has shown the very same shot of his son with the Noctilux 0.95. You either screen the image thread or might ask him.

Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! It is 'interesting' that the calculated MTF can drop 'below 0%'. Now how can I imagine what that means? [Note, I once had a SA 21mm with 'soft' corners on film. I gave it back. My Elmarit 21mm has 'soft' corners, but I now can appreciate the effect on the high res sensor. So there are things to learn. I have looked at some pictures and wondered if the plane of the image evolves to the front on the corners . . . [Which I would like maybe . . ] Edited February 21 by Alberti

Butt I’m doubting between a 35mm and a 50mm….love both focal lengths! I have both the V1 (made in 1959) that has a lot, lots of glow. The V2 made in 1984 none so look at V1 photos to see if that is what you want.
UliWer Posted February 22 Share #28 Posted February 22 Btw: Has the new Summilux it‘s own coding? According to the graphs published by Leica it shows more distortion than the older version or the asph. So I wonder if they apply some electronic correction. And yes, the lens shows visible barrel distortion even with the code on, so I don't think any correction is applied.
FrozenInTime Posted February 22 Share #30 Posted February 22 Anyone else noticed something different about this lens release: no influencer first hands on impressions videos. It has become normal for a flood of youtube reviews to appear, timed exactly with the press embargo lifting, but this time, 48 hours in and nothing!

From what I understood, and unlike previous releases, the dealers did not receive a single lens before launch - and those who received them only got very few copies yesterday. Some parts of the world may even have to wait until next week. Expect a flurry of videos in a few days😉. Edited February 22 by Ecar

maxpower Posted February 22 Share #33 Posted February 22 I got to play with one at my local dealer (only had a showroom model) today. It's definitely nice looking and, while hefty, on the M11-D i was carrying the total package wasn't actually as "bad" as I was expecting. The hood had a plastic cap on it to mount it reversed for travel (I assume?), that plastic cap felt a bit flimsy. But the hood itself and the metal lens cap (inside the pouch) are both as you'd expect. Build quality of the copy I played with seemed fine to me, as you would expect. I'm personally a fan of the new box design as well, as much as you can care about a box. As I am very used to focus tabs I wanted to test this lens out. After playing with it I'm still not sure if I would really have a problem using it without a focus tab, I'd probably get used to it. However the focus throw (which was also mentioned in the reviews) is significantly more than I'm used to from my other 50mm lenses. For me that might be a dealbreaker – it felt a bit like I lost my power steering! I snapped a few test shots with it and think I'd be more than happy with the images it produces. I only had a short amount of time in the store so couldn't test or compare it with too much detail myself, luckily much better photographers shared their reviews and photos already.
Emtsoh Posted February 22 Share #34 Posted February 22 It is a very interesting release and a surely nice designed lens other than being a summilux - and a 50mm Just checked: it seems to be out of stock in Leica Germany online store.. meaning, it has been an already successful release. ? Looks like, thus well done to Leica. Looking forward to seeing some videos covering this new lens, similar to the one for the SR 35mm, made some time ago from Patrick. algrove Posted February 22 Share #35 Posted February 22 Surprised at how few of these new 50/1.4 have been sent out to dealers on day one.
Alberti Posted February 22 Share #36 Posted February 22 I like the cap of the Summarit 35/50mm. It is not just 'modern', it is very effective. And slim. And light. The 50Lux-A/Black Chrome hood was in my memory full thick brass and weighted 100 grams.

S/W Posted February 23 Share #38 Posted February 23 I was lucky and was able to buy my copy yesterday as the last of three in the Leica Store Frankfurt on the spur of the moment. Although I already have the Summilux M 1.4/50 Asph (II), the enclosed test shot with open aperture from a friend got me so excited that I simply couldn't resist. What a bokeh and sharpness! For the very first time, I had a wow effect and said yes without further thought. The best of all wives understood afterwards and confirmed my decision once again, what a beautiful day 🥳 Welcome, dear visitor!
