Electronic items can fail. Get used to it.

Oh, fear not, I am used to it, I have been buying digital Leicas since the M8.  Maybe I was unlucky.

Never had a problem with any film Leica and I've had a lot of those as well.  Maybe I was lucky.

PS: I think you mean Miele.  My kitchen is full of Miele products.  I did have a problem with the coffee machine and the Miele service man arrived inside two days and fixed it.  A bit quicker than Leica service.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just a quick update. My camera is said to be fixed, but the dealer is still testing it all out for me (per my request), making sure everything else is working fine. It was not a replacement because they had stock shortage and rather a very quick fix (about a month), so no complaints here.

Furthermore, I have been contacted by two others (not on this forum) with their BP M11 suffering from the exact same issue. So it seems it's not an isolated incident. I will report back once I have my hand on the M11D again.

Wow.. m11 bp suffers the same fate? Now im worried

I suspect it's an issue with certain firmware update sequence (from x.x to x.y). Because we all did the same thing, update our firmware, and since our cameras are produced roughly at the same time period, they come with probably the same firmware.
