Hey there,

I have this scratch/line on my 75mm frameline on my 1 month old camera and was wondering if I should bring this up to my local Leica dealer as it is still under warranty (dropping it off to Wetzlar is also an option for me) or am I just scrutinising it too much. In addition to that, What is this piece of glass and is it normal for it to not be straight? Thanks all!

Looks like a lint or kind got stuck in the line.. i once seen a dead mosquito on my m10p newly CLA viewfinder

That’s what I thought so at first, but then it looks like a crack or something. I’ve had my M3 for years now and the framelines are still perfect so was a bit surprised to see it on a new camera hahah.

Does my M11 show this gap in the framelines as in picture 1? No.

Does my M11 show this edgy line as in picture 2? Yes, exactly the same shape and orientation. But I needed a strong torch to make it visible.

so, I assume the frame line gap is independent from the second observation. Which makes dirt a likely root cause for the gap and the line in the finder a kind of clamp centering an optical element in the finder.

Thank you so much! Going to bring it to a Leica dealer first as I am not in Germany atm. :)
