Pull the battery, pop it in the supplied charger for a few mins, then try again. That has a fair chance of raising the dead.

(Sometimes it seems like the battery memory, or similar trips and putting it in the charger resets that in some way)

Alternatively plug the USB lead in, have the camera switched on, pop the battery out, re-insert and wait.

I don't think it's long exposure, just tested this on mine and exposure is solid red replaced by flashing when doing noise reduction.

i tried and things just stay the same. The camera is only 1 month old and i try to firgure how to make it operate again.

I’ve read that the repair will take 3-5 months.Too long.My guess it would be a damage to mainboard.I took out the lens and see dust protector doesn’t close.Send it to Leica probably the last resort.

An user said this about his frozen M11-D:

"customer service Leica suggested a hard reset which means keeping the thumb wheel and the function button pressed for 30 seconds. Initially the camera did not respond, but after three times and also removing and inserting the battery the camera turned on again."

Try this and let us know.

I suspect it has died. My understanding is that with new cameras they are moved through more quickly. I'd be pushing like mad with the retailer and the national importer that being without a camera for months when 1 month old isn't acceptable and a new body, loaner, demo camera etc needs to be provided. Things go wrong, electronics can have a burn in period, the issue isn't failure it's how the failure is dealt with.

My experience with a brand new, faulty M10 acquired while new units were shipping in 2017 does not reflect this. I was without it for months.

Not meaning to argue, but in my experience and a few others who I shared this info online who had an issue of the camera not turning on or hanging, that removing the battery and placing it in the charger, even for 5 mins, provides a different outcome to just plugging in the USB and pulling batteries. It seemed like the charger reset the battery memory or something like that? IDK but worth trying both options.

Interesting and definitely not arguing! Not many of us have a charger though it seems these days. Worth a go if you have one I agree.

Can't fathom using any Leica without a separate charger, even a USB-C charging one.  The M11 family charger is the best one they've ever made.  I got a second one when I had the M11-P because I misplaced the first one.  The M11-D came without a charger, so when I got rid of both I still have the charger and a few batteries -- hopefully M12 will be compatible.  I like to have several chargers to shotgun charge all the batteries at once, or at least two in case of M11 that will last a day for sure.  The charger is so amazingly small and fun that it is criminal not to get it, as a marvel and easy travel companion.  The only charger that is much cooler and better is the Hasselblad X family double charger,  a similarly small cube but made out of a chunk of metal.

I have a dealer to send it back to EU.Anyone knows how long does it take to get the camera repaired once Lecai has received the item ? I am prepared for few months may take but Lunar new year is comming and i am in hope that i will get it back soon.

Any possibilities that i will get a new replacement since my cam is merely 3 weeks old to be exact.

My cam was frozen on 1st day using, removed the batt solved it.But not lucky this time.
