Lens advice

I recently bought an SL2-S, and I like it.  I am a part-time art photographer. 

I want to have the SL2s as the daily walk around kit.  I have the 35 ASPH and I am thinking about the 75 or 90 APOs. Any advice?

The two mentioned APO lenses from Leica are absolutely fantastic, no question about it. However, with the Sigma 85/1.4 Art, there's a noteworthy alternative that I would definitely include in the considerations. The fact that its focal length lies exactly between the two could be another point to consider here.

I had the Sigma 85 1.4 and 90 2.8, both excellent

I replaced them with the 75 APO

It just gives me more of what I want which is of course difficult to pin down, maybe more subject separation/pop or whatever

I use it in combo with the the 35 APO as my standard pairing

If you do need a bit more length than the 75 then my go to is the Panasonic 100 2.8 macro which you can add to the heavy weight pair without hardly noticing

I think 75 is more flexible, specially if you also want to use it indoors and don't own a 50.

Will you carry both lenses at once? If so, one of the zooms would be less bulky and more flexible.  I sold my SL 75 APO, and stayed with the 24-90, using an alternative strap setup for easier carry. Now there are smaller zoom alternatives, if size/weight is the issue. But my M bodies are my daily carries.  Others use M lenses with their SL system. The beauty is that there are many viable approaches.

Just get a 24-90mm and be done with it. It is a stellar lens and definitely has that „Leica look“. 
And don‘t be afraid of size and weight: Superb image quality is still heavy and hard to carry…

Thanks, it looks really great! But this time I think I want the APO-experience.

The 24-90 is ASPH, the 90-280 is APO, you wrote above that you want the “APO look”. From my point of view, the Sigma85-Art would be in between, but would be more of an APO lens than an ASPH zoom.

For many months I am contemplating the 75apo, 85art or 90apo. I want to buy only one. Meanwhile I bought the 100macro as it was a bargain and give me more time to think. Not sure how long it will take me to make up my mind…

Otherwise, the Summilux 50mm is a sleeper and can be had used for acceptable money. It‘s heavy and slow (AF), but second to none in its rendering. 

Without knowing it first hand, consent has it that the 75mm APO is the other outstanding APO in the SL lineup sharing with the 35mm APO that rare je ne sais quoi most high-MTF lenses don’t have.

I had the 24-90 for two years, primarily for events and other assignments where a zoom lens makes sense. It's the best standard zoom in the market and an actual Leica lens, albeit not an original Leica design. It has a high dimensionality of up to 75mm. The long end could be clearer, though. The 24-90 is highly digitally corrected, like all standard zooms. This, its weight (it can't get heavier in this particular segment), and a change in my needs made me sell it. But if I were in the market, I'd repurchase it without further thinking. However, it's not particularly well-suited for photo walks. 

I also used it for landscape photography, but it's not remotely in the same league as a proper prime would be in the respective focal length. I always wondered why many landscape photographers use zooms. The difference is night and day for a trained eye.

Thanks. I am possibly getting myself the 35 APO eventually. And I will take a hard look at the 50 APO also. They seems to go for good prices.
