I've used an older Leica 90/4 Elmar as well as a more modern Voigtlander 75/2.5. The Elmar gives more of a classic look while the Voigtlander is crisper, giving a modern look. Depending on the type of portraits you are doing, male vs female especially, you may find one focal length more suitable than the other. I think the 90 requires a little more finesse focusing on the eyes than the Voigtlander, but much prefer its flatter rendering for female portraits.

What other lenses do you already have? I chose 90 since I already had a 50 and felt that 75 would be too close in FL.  If I had a 35 then I would chosen a classic 35/75 pairing.

I have the 21/35/50/75 APO and the 50mm Summilux-SL.  I like the 50 APO and 75 APO for different reasons.  FWIW, I do a lot of close up photography so there is a big difference between 50mm and 75mm in that case.  I can't shoot my at my usual working distance for most things with the 75.  The 50 APO is great for closer shooting.
