I have both in the combination of M3 (generally with a 35 summicron) and a M10P (generally Cannon 28 f/2.8 LTM) I don't carry both simultaneously.  A factor in the my decision for that combo was the easy sharing of lenses.

For my use they get selected based on the conditions.  For poor light, evening, etc I go digital with benefits of wide ISO selection.  I also use the digital in instances where I expect to take a lot of images, family gatherings for example and share them in a short period of time. For travel I use the M3 or Rollei 35SE - BW in the M3 and color in the Rollei.

Of course I also use the dreaded iPhone to back up the film cameras..🤷🏻‍♂️

It can be a complicated choice depending on your objective.  I did consider the Q but it is just too bulky for me compared to the M system.

I am a M6 user (with sumicron 35mm) and thinking of getting a digital Leica to pair with. Which digital leica models (Q?M?)

The problem with the mighty Qs is the electronic VF. I’m not fond of these. Even the brilliant SL EVF is not a delicate experience. I’m in a similar situation. I shoot mostly films and sometimes need assignments with a digital camera. This is an SL2-S. Images are as good as digital pictures possibly can get, but the shooting experience is underwhelming. It’s not the cameras’s fault. It’s my preference for the range finder focusing mechanism and the experience to see the world as it is. The rest is imagination and visualisation.

I’m looking now for a well-used but freshly CLA-ed M10 from a reputable dealer. In the end, considering everything, price, quality of the DNG files, size, and weight, the M10 is the sweet spot.

Any M would work well but if you already are familiar with M6 then I'd say acquire one of the screenless 'D' variants. The shooting experience is identical and you won't notice the lack of a rear screen.

Do you want AF? Are you mostly doing B&W photography?  If so, you can’t go wrong with the Q2M, and quite frankly, the IQ will be far superior.  Otherwise, a digital M camera might be your best choice and this will allow use of your M lenses on both cameras.  For travel photos that won’t go beyond social media I use my IPhone.
