Thank you Haoge! LH - LQ343B .. redesigned the Q3 28 lens hood so now it fits perfectly on a Q3 43 … no more blue tape 😂..  here’s a  video I posted on YouTube showing it lines up perfectly and no macro issues with full size UV filter. Amazon has a Black Friday sale for $36 right now.

Do you think an airtag will now fit on the inside of a lens cap with this lens hood? I have one of these (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8F5XGSF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) but the way the OEM lens hood is made, there isn’t enough clearance.

So you’ll always know where your lens cap is. Good idea: I’ve got quite a few strewn all over the landscape worldwide. The cameras are another matter -never lost one in over sixty years… 😊

Thanks for this! Just bought one. UK Amazon has them in stock.

Feel always free to post links to Amazon (or B&H)!

This helps the forum with a small provision we get if someone buys…

The Haoge Metal Square Lens Hood for Leica Q3 Q3-43 is available here:

NB in the other Q3 43 filter thread, some who bought the Haoge hood on Amazon received one that had a slight blue colour - the suspicion is that it may be a fake. This may not be true, of course, and it may not worry you if it is.

I bought mine direct and it matches the camera.

I have the Hoage hood that Mr. Louie recommended.  It works perfectly and I can shoot macro with the UV filter in place.  Yes, it is a damned shame that a small company in PRC can get the problem fixed faster than the manufacturer.  It is also a damned shame that thumb grips and hand grips are available for a fraction of the Wetzlar price.  I like the camera a lot.  It is a really good carry camera and has a good lens and sensor yielding good IQ, color and microcontrast.  But what I perceive as a "Wir sind besser als Dich" attitude and poor customer support rankles me.  And I do not think it will ever change.  Leitzkopf.  That's the way it is, that's the way it has been.  I think I see a trend.

The flip hood from PolarPro is slick.  But pricey.

The right phrase would have been „Wir sind besser als Du/Sie“ - but Leica never claimed that. Leitzkopf = Leitzhead?
Why should the manufacturer aka Leica fix a problem (if there is any by Leicas definition) faster than a Chinese copy and paste company? Do you really expect that from a high quality manufacturer with relatively long lifespan products? And would you pay the Leica price they would charge while complaining about 130 „bucks“ for the polarpro ?

Well - I'm very happy with the Haoge product I got.  Also the case from Amazon (if this helps the forum!) was excellent value and marries form and function very well indeed.  Extremely comfortable (makes the camera a better fit for my hands), good access to battery and SD card, + excellent protection.  Bought from Amazon UK (https://www.amazon.co.uk/MUZIRI-KINOKOO-Leica-Q3-Protective/dp/B0CQR1Q2N7)
