JJJS Posted October 12, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a number of digital books from Overgaard last year and also ordered one of his expensive but fancy camera strap from him. The latter was said to be in stock when I ordered, but nothing was ever sent to me and all my (many) mails inquiring into the status remained unanswered. I finally made out a paypal case, which was also never answered to, so I got my money back. I was after this experience obviously totally done with him and all his mails, which I am receiving on nearly a daily basis. I even wrote to him personally that it is in my view better to respond to existing customers than to continue chasing new sales. Obviously unanswered. The irritating thing is that I continue to receive his mails, despite that I continuously unsubscribe myself. I saw that another person had similar problems, on which Mr Overgaard replied (!!) that that person probably erroneously had subscribed himself again. Well, I am certain that I unsubscribe all the time and I am fed up doing this. So does anybody have an idea how to stop this?
Advertisement Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Hi JJJS, Take a look here How to unsubscribe from Overgaard's emails?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted October 12, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2024 Same problem here. I have set up a custom filter in my E-Mail program to handle anything coming from Overgaard as spam and to discard automatically.
elmars Posted October 12, 2024 Share #3 Posted October 12, 2024 There are some annoying things in connection with Overgaard, his harassment with mails is one of them. I was also affected once, but after I became more massive, he switched it off. Within the EU, I would first threaten a lawyer and then get one involved. Sometimes you have to sue people so that they learn and change.
davidmknoble Posted October 12, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2024 You can typically block any email address or domain in your email system, or send a specific email to spam or delete upon receipt.
GMB Posted October 12, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 12, 2024 My advice: Send him one last email. Request 1) not to receive any more emails and 2) that he deletes all your personal data including your email address. If following that you continue to receive emails, file a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency. Can be done in English. https://www.datatilsynet.dk/english/report-a-breach Good luck. 3

David, you’re right. However, there’s something called netiquette. Herr Overgaard’s posts don’t have an unsubscribe option. His “organisation” is based in the US and does not abide by EU law even If some of his recipients are European and reside in the EU. Leaving aside the quality of his products -where recollections may vary… some will like them, some not- it’s obvious that his emails keep coming. Sending them to the spam box is a good option if you don’t want them to come I once bought something related to the M9 -don’t remember what- and ended doing that x Edited October 12, 2024 by irenedp

davidmknoble Posted October 12, 2024 Share #8 Posted October 12, 2024 @irenedp, I was not trying to evaluate the person, I was simply offering a solution that we each have control over, rather that pursuing a solution we do not have control over. That's all. I have some financial and election emails that keep coming I could not 'unsubscribe' from so I simply started trashing them as they come in using email rules. StefLindeque Posted October 13, 2024 Share #9 Posted October 13, 2024 Same problem here. It’s impossible to get away from that constant barrage of emails, some even slip through my mail filters. I have requested several times and it even pops up as ‘successful unsubscribed’. Yet next week guaranteed there will be another one.

Paul Timlett Posted November 12, 2024 Share #13 Posted November 12, 2024 Same here. There is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of his emails that I've used at least 20 times. I've also tried emailing him. And still the emails come - every day! I've managed to divert his emails to my Spam folder - it's absolutely full of them! Don't he and his people realise what this is doing to his reputation?
jaapv Posted November 12, 2024 Share #14 Posted November 12, 2024 As mentioned earlier in this thread many email programs have the option to either block or automatically delete unwanted mails - check yours.
