jjroroek Posted October 9, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) yesterday i had a severe problem with my q3 28. out shooting I noticed that my images where much to contrasty. At first I thought ofcourse it was te settings of the camera but i couldnt find anything, ( i shoor only L- DNG manual with auto iso) the images are not only much to contrasty on te display but also on the computer. battery out and in also didn't work. the only thing that worked was to reset the camera. after that that the images where ok again . But a second problem occured during te reset. The camera didnot keep the presets despite the camera asked for it and i confirmed. . does Anyone has an idea about the two problems? Dr. G Posted October 9, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 9, 2024 How is your metering set? You're shooting a dark object against a bright sky. The camera is probably lowering the exposure of the whole image to protect the highlights in the sky, which is darkening your subject. Shouldn't be a problem with RAW, just lift the shadows in post. Your sky isn't blown out so it looks like a perfectly reasonable out of camera RAW file. You also could have added a bit of exposure compensation to capture the details in the subject, but then your sky would have been overexposed. Overcast skies are much bigger issues than blue skies. Edited October 9, 2024 by SrMi

Iso220 Posted October 9, 2024 Share #8 Posted October 9, 2024 perhaps the light meter was set to “Highlight-Weighted. In this setting the camera will automatically protect the highlights.
David Wien Posted October 9, 2024 Share #9 Posted October 9, 2024 Take some normal photos and then reassess the problem you are complaining about. I am sure your camera is normal! David
Le Chef Posted October 9, 2024 Share #10 Posted October 9, 2024 Seems OK. Reduce contrast in Lightroom and maybe color temperature.
